Valg, Uge 19, Tronholmen, Randers
In Denmark today, May 7, elections have been issued.
179 members of the Folketing are elected, for a period of no more than 4 years, during which time elections must again be made.
The first parliamentary election took place on December 4, 1849 after the issuance of the democratic constitution The Constitution of 5 June of the same year, at the same time the parliament established the Reichstag consisting of the second chamber of the Folketing and the first chamber of the County Council, each with their own electoral rules.
However, with the 1953 constitution (the current one), one went over to a one-chamber system, which meant that the County Council was omitted and that the Folketing was then and is Denmark's parliament.
